She further informed how to provide inexpensive local machinery for rendering legal services of basic nature like legal advice, drafting of petitions, notices, replies, applications and other documents of legal importance.

Advocate Javaid Iqbal spoke on the activities of the Legal Literacy Clubs which includes holding of Legal Awareness discourses for students of the school/college, organizing of debates, discussions, essay competitions, poetry/short competitions and painting/cartoon drawing competitions on the issues pertaining to Legal Literacy & Awareness on Legal Services Day, Constitution Day, Annual Day, besides Children’s Day.

He also underscored the role and duties of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) on how they impart awareness on laws and the legal system. He also threw light on PLVs acting as intermediaries bridging the gap between the common people and the Legal Services Institutions to remove impediments in access to justice and trained counsel who amicably settle the dispute between the parties at the source itself and save the trouble of the affected persons.

Students and other participants on the occasion expressed their gratitude to TLSC Gurez for organizing the programme and requested them to continue with such awareness programmes in the near future.
