We off and on see Islamic seminaries (Dar-ul-Ulooms/Darasgahs) in Kashmir, inviting scholars from far and wide to deliver sermons among the students on any given occasion. While trying to reach out to the common masses and allure them to attend such occasions, we see the management of these seminaries usually printing posters and banners with verses of Holy Quran and names of these scholars and either paste or hang these (posters/banners) at any place of their choice. However what happens over the time is these posters weather out and all what is written over, ultimately falls to ground or gets disposed off with complete disdain. This way, we unwittingly attract the displeasure and wrath of Allah for disrespecting the holy verses of the Holy Book and his blessed souls. We must ponder over the fact that at a time when we literally are a click away to disseminate any information that too in a hassle free manner, why do we feel the urge to print these posters – which we after some time find lying in dustbins and otherwise in other unwanted places. It is time that we as sane souls should take heed of the things and not let our hands be a reason of our own ruin and destruction. The heads of the seminaries have an all important role in these matters to educate the management not to indulge in such despicable acts and instead make use of the available technology to reach larger audience in a much cheap and convenient way.
