Most of us often write and never look back to whether it makes sense to people, if it’s grammatically correct, or has some value in books or columns, but our piece finds space in our diary or notes. We write for ourselves to share with our log what we have in our mind or heart. It doesn’t matter if you will be appreciated, but it’s a satisfaction to our soul that we have the skill to share our pain, feelings, moments, love, and happiness with ourselves.
In the era of Artificial intelligence, where a chatbot or Bard can write better than you, better than most of the fantastic writers around the globe, writers find themselves useless. AI is taking over almost every job, journalism, Research, Engineering, Writing, and whatnot. Does that mean we need to stop? No! It can help you build your vocabulary but will eradicate your creativity. AI is a disaster for the originality of humankind, a catastrophe for the who created it and the one who uses it. Copied content from an AI tool can find better viewers than your piece. Does that mean what you wrote is senseless? For me, an AI writing tool is pointless because it loses the most important sense, a feeling for your loved one or emotions towards your passion. We have stopped trusting ourselves and our abilities by using AI tools for our help. Researchers, journalists, and writers have already adopted AI tools for easy work. But, time is not far when they will find themselves useless and regret part of their life when they were introduced to AI.
As a writer, AI is hurting my passion. Firstly AI-generated content potentially leads to a decrease in demand for human writers, as it creates content quickly at no cost, for now, later might charge an affordable price. Having an impressive way of putting forth things because of its vocabulary, but it often needs more depth, creativity, and emotional nuance that human writers bring to their work. A personal touch and emotional connection can be vital in certain forms of writing, like letters, essays, articles, memoirs, or creative pieces. The AI tool unintentionally writes content that is copied from an existing work, leading to issues of plagiarism and copyright infringement. I know even these minor issues will be displaced soon, but they cannot replace the human mind which created them. Writing is built on years of practice, skill development, and understanding of language nuances. Relying on AI could lead to a decline in the cultivation of these skills. The newer generation will lose most of the basic skills, and with time, the ages will feel useless and become AI puppets. One of the biggest daily concerns is that it spreads false or misleading information if not properly checked.
Human writers who have stopped using their brains offer better dominance over AI tools for writing. Writers can infuse their work with unique and imaginative ideas, feelings, emotions, and perspectives that AI tools often struggle to create. The subtle nuances of language, cultural context, and tone enable them to create content that resonates with specific audiences and elicits the desired emotional responses. In contrast, AI often leads to what was never asked and tries to put an answer even if it doesn’t know the same. A tool that wants to avoid losing misleads to win, i.e. produces answers to questions that it doesn’t know and there give wrong answers. Writers change and adapt their writing style to suit different genres, tones, and purposes. At the same time, AI tools lack the flexibility to create content outside their programmed parameters, and they produce the same answers every time. Humans bring personal experiences, beliefs, and life stories to their writing, creating original content that reflects their individuality and authenticity. They can handle complex subject matter, emotions, and ideas in ways that AI often struggles to comprehend and convey accurately. As a writer, I can tap into readers’ emotions and experiences to create content that connects deeply with readers on an emotional level, fostering empathy and understanding. Everything in the world has an evolution; the same is the case with language. We often see when we Google a word it shows in which it was used the most, and that is the words that are often used, or their usage has declined. Humans help language by introducing new words, phrases, and idioms, a dynamic process that AI has been able to do just now.
