Editorial | Teachers – The Builders of a Nation

We all are the stakeholders in a society and our contribution as well as performance has a direct impact on its functioning and development. Irrespective of the profession we belong to or the work we do, it’s not possible for us to become who we are without a teacher. A teacher is the one who is the architect of a nation, who takes the responsibility on his shoulders to engineer the present as well as the future of any nation. Given the priceless services of teachers, they must be accorded the highest stature in any society. The reason pertaining to this is that all other professions are the result of teachers. Not only in terms of monetary benefits, teachers must be revered in all forms. At the same time, it’s incumbent upon teachers to fulfill their obligations towards the society in the best possible manner. By upholding the principles and tenets of the noble profession, teachers must ensure that they provide the best guidance to the students and prepare them in accordance with the dynamic environment. We as a society are shaped by the individuals and for shaping an individual, the contribution of a teacher cannot be overlooked. In this regard, a teacher must be well trained who possesses the potential to cater to the needs of a student. This necessitates the training and development of a teacher also in order to hone his skills. Celebrating a day or two cannot suffice what is needed to be done for the overall wellbeing of the teachers. They are the people who deserve the highest honour and respect. A society which fails to honour its teachers can never flourish. So let us all pledge to honour our teachers the way they deserve.
