Ganderbal : The Additional Superintendent of Police, Aijaz Ahmad-JKPS (2008 batch) on wednesday interacted with the members of Press Association Ganderbal and extended his cooperation and good wishes for the forthcoming election process and formation of new executive body.
The meeting was held in a well receptive atmosphere at the District Police Lines, Tullamulla Ganderbal. All the participants gave their detailed introduction and put forth various points and suggestions which were deliberated upon.
Addl SP on the occasion emphasized on the police-press relations and said that the institution always regards and admires ethical journalism being practiced by the recognised and authenticated media personnel.
Mr. Aijaz further said that Police and press fraternity both work in extreme challenging and ultra sensitive situations and are equally responsible in keeping calm and mentain peace and law and order.
Press Association Ganderbal members apprised the Additional SP about the current membership drive and the upcoming procedures to elect the new office functionaries. Moreover the members also requested Addl SP to convey his officers to have a better understanding of the duties of a media person while covering any news on ground.
DySP DAR, Nazir Ahmad, LO Inspector Tariq Ahmad and other Police officers were also present in the meeting.
The meeting concluded in a healthy and happy environment and group snaps were also clicked.
