GANDERBAL : To ensure active participation of all sects of society on UT Foundation Day, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a joint meeting of officers and various sections of society to discuss a plan for observing the day on 31th October.

The meeting was attended by different sections of society including PRIs, prominent citizens, social workers, transporters, media persons, Civil Society members and students.

On the occasion the DC while highlighting the purpose for celebrating the UT Foundation Day said that functions will be organized throughout the district Panchayats, blocks, education institutions and the main function will be held at Qamaria Ground.

To commemorate the Foundation Day, the DC maintained that multifarious activities including youth centric programs, sports events, lighting of government building, etc. would be held to highlight the transition, transformation, development and achievements of the last four years of Ganderbal District on 31th October.

The DC maintained that the UT Foundation Day is an occasion to celebrate our rich culture, achievements besides spirit and unity with active participation from all sections of society, including youth and senior citizens to infuse the events with enthusiasm and zeal. He urged everyone to actively participate in the celebration of this significant day.

On the occasion participants share their valuable suggestions for the successful realization of the celebration’s objectives. The DC emphasized that all need to come forward and put-up constructive recommendations for better and prosperous Ganderbal.

The DC added that district administration will make a compendium of the activities showcasing the developmental achievements of last four years of the district besides the achievements by individual departments.

He also asked the departments to prepare and execute their activities as per their respective roles and emphasized the importance of timely and thorough preparations to ensure a smooth and enthusiastic celebration of UT Foundation Day.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mehraj-u-din Shah, CPO, ACR, SDM Kangan and other district and sectoral officers.
