Acting on precise intelligence regarding an Inter-District narcotics operation in North Kashmir, CID CIK, in close coordination with the Sopore District Police, strategically devised a plan to neutralize this illicit module. A joint task force, under the leadership of the Station House Officer (SHO) from the CIK Police Station and Sopore Police, executed a meticulously planned raid at the designated location, leading to the apprehension of a prominent drug peddler, identified as Junaid Ahmed Ganaie, son of Abdul Qayoom Ganaie, hailing from Wagub Sopore.

During the operation, law enforcement confiscated a substantial quantity of narcotics, totaling 600 grams, along with various incriminating materials.

In response to this significant achievement, Case FIR No. 113 of 2023 has been formally registered under sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Tarzoo Police Station in Sopore, marking the initiation of an in-depth investigative process. The apprehension of Junaid Ahmed Ganaie represents a notable milestone, as it is expected to provide critical leads and result in the arrest of other members associated with this narcotics module. This particular module has reportedly been active in the narcotics trade for an extended period, substantially contributing to the pervasive drug addiction issues plaguing the youth in the regions of Baramulla, Sopore, and Srinagar.

The investigation into this matter is actively underway, with the anticipation of further recoveries and additional arrests in the days to come.
