Sogam : Mir Mudasir Gul, JKAS, on Monday formally assumed additional charge as Block Development Officer of Sogam block.
Mir, who is currently BDO Wavura, has been entrusted with the additional charge after the previous BDO Tawheed Ahmad was transferred from the block.
Mir himself was previously discharging his duties in Dachnipora block in district Anantnag.
The subordinates on the occasion of assumption of charge welcomed him and greeted him with bouquets and well wishes as BDO of Sogam block.
The occasion was also attended by DDC member Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone.
Meanwhile, locals in the block also have welcomed the newly posted BDO and expressed hope that he will work the way his predecessor Tawheed Ahmad worked.
“We have been grappling with many issues for a long now and we hope that the newly posted officer will work for the betterment of the area for the larger benefit of the public and at the same time prioritise public good over anything else”, said a group of locals.
