DC Kupwara inspects snow clearance work, availability of civic amenities, visits migrant coloney Nutnoosa

Kupwara : Deputy Commisioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today toured different areas of Kupwara district to inspect the ongoing snow-clearance operation and assess the arrangements put in place to address challenges arising after heavy snowfall.

Accompanied by Tehsildar Handwara, Zeeshan Khan and officers from relevant departments, Deputy Commissioner inspected Baramulla- Kupwara National Highway at Drugmulla, Nutnussa and Kawari and other areas, to evaluate the efforts being made to restore the basic services.
She directed the concerned department to clearly remove the snow from the roads so that the vehicles and pedestrians don’t face problems in passing through.

During her tour, the DC also visited Migrant Coloney Nutnoosa to take stock of essential services being provided there.

DC urged all departments to be responsive and put in best efforts to ensure quick restoration of essential services.
It is pertinent to mention here that entire kupwara district is witnessing heavy snowfall for last three days. District headquarter and its adjoining areas have recorded one foot of snow, while as higher reaches of Karmah, keran Lolab, Rajwar, Machal, Budanmal have record three to four feet of snow till now.
