EVM/ VVPAT training imparted to polling staff in district Kupwara

KUPWARA : On the directions of District Election Officer Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, training programmes on the handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines were held today in Kupwara district to ensure smooth conduct of the ensuing Lok Sabha Election-2024.

The training programmes were held at Town Hall Kupwara, Environment Hall Handwara, GDC Handwara, Sogam and Tangdar
At Environment Hall Handwara, the Assistant Returning Officer Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather, presided over the EVM/VVPAT training programme which saw participation of employees of various departments who have been assigned the polling duties in Assembly Constituency Handwara.
The training programme was conducted in two sessions in which large number of polling staff took part. The training was imparted by District Election Trainers, Syed Mohd Farooq and Syed Saqib Geelani and other ALMTs.
The training programme was aimed to equip the employees with necessary knowledge and skills to conduct the electoral process effectively during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The polling staff were given necessary directions regarding the submission of Form 12A (Application for Election duty certificate) enabling the employee to cast their vote while on election duty within the parliamentary constituency.
The Assistant Returning Officer Langate, Mudasir Ahmad chaired a training programme for polling staff of Assembly Constituency Langate at GDC Handwara. The programme was attended by large number of officials assigned with polling duties, DLMTs and other ALMTs.
EVM/VVPAT training was also held at GDC Tangdar which was presided over by Assistant Returning Officer Karnah, Zafar Ahmad Lone.
Similar, training programmes were held at Town Hall Kupwara and Sogam in Lolab sub division.
