Lok Sabha Elections 2024: SVEEP program held at Saint Joseph School Baramulla

BARAMULLA : In view of Lok Sabha Election 2024 in 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency on 20th of May, a mega SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program under the campaign ‘I Vote For Sure’ was held at Saint Joseph School, Baramulla, to encourage and inspire the eligible voters to exercise their right to vote.
The event was presided over by District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa. Sapna Kotwal, UT Nodal Officer Media, Chief Education Officer, Shabir Ahmad Khan and others were present at the event.
During the program, students and newly eligible voters actively engaged in a variety of activities, all of which aimed to instill a sense of civic duty and enthusiasm among participants and raise awareness about the significance of voting.
A signature campaign was also conducted during the event, with the participation from the Nodal Officer SVEEP, the DEO, and other eligible voters who pledged to exercise their democratic right on the polling day.
The DEO on the occasion highlighted the district administration’s extensive efforts in conducting SVEEP activities on a grand scale to spread voter awareness and encourage maximum participation in the electoral process.
Minga Sherpa further urged the people to come out in large numbers on 20th of May, the day of Poll in 1-Baramulla PC and vote to choose their representatives who will work on fulfilling their developmental aspirations.
Speaking during the event, Sapna Kotwal, emphasized on the significance of electoral literacy in empowering citizens and urged everyone, especially first-time voters, to exercise their democratic right responsibly on the poll day.
