Police Hospital Jammu celebrated “International Nurses Day”

Jammu : International Nurses Day is being celebrated around the world every May 12th, the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingales who is known as the founder of modern nursing. However, in continuation of its tradition, Police Hospital Jammu celebrated the said “International Nurses Day” today i.e. on 18.05.2024 in the premises of Police Hospital Jammu under this year’s theme “The Economic power of care. Nurses make the difference” to honour the nursing staff performing their duties over here.

The programme started by lighting the lamp by Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu. The Nurses Day was enthusiastically celebrated by all the Doctors/Staff to honour all the Nursing Staff of Police Hospital Jammu. Nursing pledge was taken by all the staff and they assured of their whole hearted support for better patient care at Police Hospital Jammu.
Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal while appreciating the role of nurses for their untiring/selfless services, asserted that the humble, submissive and caring attitude of nurses play a vital role in the fast recovery of the patients who enter the hospital with great agony and distress. It was stressed upon all the nurses present on the occasion to continue their selfless services with great passion and enthusiasm to bring laurels to this institution as the nurses are the backbone of every health institution.

Moreover, in order to acknowledge the selfless services being rendered by the nursing staff towards the better healthcare of patients and to make the event a memorable one, Medical
Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu honoured two nursing supervisors namely Mrs. Inderjeet Kour and Mrs. Chander Mukhi with the crown as a token of love and respect for properly utilizing the services of all the staff members during round the clock duties. However, Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu was equally honoured by the nursing staff by way of presenting the crown and a plant pot for her rich management and best administrative skills for organizing such programmes in this hospital to keep all the doctors, paramedical staff and other assisting staff in high morale. To make the occasion more colorful, a cultural programme was also organized during which SI(M) Narinder Kumar of this unit delighted the audience/participants with his melodious voice.
