Kupwara : In a significant achievement for the education sector, government schools in Kupwara have reported an impressive 79% pass rate in the recently announced 10th class results. This milestone underscores the dedication and efficiency of teachers and the robust educational framework in the district.
Sahil Bashir, District President of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Kupwara, commended the government school teachers for their exceptional teaching efforts, despite their involvement in additional government duties such as elections, electoral roll preparation, and census operations. “The credit of such a big achievement goes to the teachers of Government schools who are teaching in an efficient manner besides fulfilling other Government assignments,” Bashir stated.
Infrastructure improvements, including the development of ICT labs, Computer-Aided Learning (CAL) facilities, and the establishment of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) centers across primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, have significantly contributed to this success. However, Bashir urged the extension of ICT labs to all primary and middle schools to further enhance educational outcomes.
The role of Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRCs) has also been pivotal. Their effective teaching and re-engagement have been welcomed across the Union Territory. Bashir advocated for the repatriation of subject-specific teachers from high and higher secondary schools to their original postings in primary and middle schools, emphasizing the importance of foundational education.
Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Mr. Abdul Majeed Dar, along with Zonal Education Officers and Heads of Institutions (HOIs) of all high and higher secondary schools, were also lauded for their exemplary management and community engagement.
Bashir expressed gratitude to the parents who entrusted their children’s education to government schools, reinforcing the community’s trust in the public education system. He also praised the support of the State Education Department (SED) under the guidance of the Honourable Lieutenant Governor and called for the creation of an Education Administrative Service to ensure efficient department management through competitive examinations.
Reaffirming JKTF’s commitment to prioritizing children’s education, Bashir emphasized the importance of recognizing and felicitating outstanding teachers. “Our slogan is, was, and will be ‘Child is our Priority’,” he concluded. This dedication to nurturing and developing human resources continues to drive educational excellence in Kupwara.
