Kupwara : In thrilling finale at the Bohipora Cricket Ground,. Dudwan Reds triumphed over Ink Spot 11 by 57 runs, clinching the Bohipora T12 Cup.
After winning the toss, Dudwan Reds chose to bat first, setting an imposing target of 136/5 in their allotted 12 overs. Openers Peer Usaib (18 off 7) and Peer Akash (35 off 20) provided a strong start, attacking the opposition bowlers from the outset. Despite the early dismissal of all-rounder Abrar Peer for a duck, Aamir Lefty’s explosive innings of 51 off 24 balls, supported by Wajid Pir’s 18, pushed the Reds to a competitive total.
In response, Ink Spot 11 struggled against a disciplined Dudwan Reds bowling attack, managing only 79/9 in their 12 overs. Key contributions came from bowlers Rameez War, Abrar Peer, Aamir Lefty, and Touseef, each taking two wickets, while Ashiq Hussain chipped in with one.
Aamir Lefty was named Man of the Match for his stellar performance, scoring 51 runs and taking two crucial wickets. Abrar Peer’s consistent excellence throughout the tournament earned him the Man of the Series accolade.
The champions, Dudwan Reds, were awarded a cash prize of ₹15,000 and the coveted trophy, celebrating their dominant win over Ink Spot 11. The Bohipora T12 Cup final showcased remarkable talent and competitive spirit, marking another memorable chapter in local cricket.
Locals and both teams praised the team management for conducting the event peacefully and called for more such tournaments to be organized, believing they help keep the young generation away from drugs.
