BARAMULLA : District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today convened a meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLIC) at the DC office meeting hall to review the implementation of the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) Scheme and ongoing RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) projects under the Jal Shakti Sector in the District Baramulla.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad, Chief Planning Officer, Javaid Ahmad, Chief Agricultural Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, executive engineers, member Secy CSS-FPO, and other district-level officers.
At the outset, the chair was provided with a detailed briefing on the physical and financial progress of various projects under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) tranches 24, 25, and 26, executed by the Jal Shakti Department.
The DDC emphasized the importance of these projects for the community and directed all the concerned executing agencies to intensify their efforts, instructing them to ensure that the projects are completed on time and commissioned for public use.
Minga Sherpa further instructed the officers to proactively identify and eliminate any obstacles that might be hindering the progress of the ongoing works and ensure that the projects stay on track and meet their scheduled deadlines.
The meeting also conducted a comprehensive review of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which is a centrally sponsored scheme to create 10,000 FPOs across the country. The meeting covered its health, the status of saturation, and other aspects related to the implementation of the scheme in the district.
Strategies to saturate the scheme by holding workshops at block level, connecting the FPOs to the market linkage, capacity building, process and value addition, and other methods were also discussed during the meeting.
The ADDC instructed all stakeholders and executing agencies to collaborate effectively to ensure the successful implementation of the scheme, as it serves as a significant source of employment.
