The Education Department has established seasonal centers in Kupwara’s hard zones to educate children of nomads and shepherds who migrate to the upper reaches with their animals for nearly six months during the summer. These seasonal educational centers serve 1131 pupils and operate for six months from May to October. Tanghdar education zone has eight centers, located at Gagadari, Sukreyian Bangus, Kunderawal, Taar Behak, Nard Nachyian, Copra, Zarla, and Sabahi Bangus. Bangus. Mawer Education Zone contains seven such centers located in Kaligenger, Batawali, Sariwali, Dhana, Chakpath, and Doodban.
