Editorial | Seasonal education centers a catalyst of hope for people in Kupwara 

The Education Department has established seasonal centers in Kupwara’s hard zones to educate children of nomads and shepherds who migrate to the upper reaches with their animals for nearly six months during the summer. These seasonal educational centers serve 1131 pupils and operate for six months from May to October. Tanghdar education zone has eight centers, located at Gagadari, Sukreyian Bangus, Kunderawal, Taar Behak, Nard Nachyian, Copra, Zarla, and Sabahi Bangus. Bangus. Eleven centers have been established in Chamkote zone, including Bangus Sukriyan, Bangus Shabiyee, Dudi A, Dudi B, Gomiree A, Gomiree B, Bade Behak, Taya Pathra, Trathsur, and Moori. The Rajwar education zone has eleven centers for children. The centres are Palpati 1, Palpati 2, Baliyan 1, Baliyan 2, Dana, and Dana 2. Three centers in Kralpora zone (Chhaya Gali A, Chhaya Gali B, and Dudi Behak Keran) offer free education to pupils. Khumriyal zone also has five similar zones, which have been built in various locations, including Indira Behek, Mota Behek, Khanabal-C, Nawad Pathri, and Chanan Khal B. Mawer Education Zone contains seven such centers located in Kaligenger, Batawali, Sariwali, Dhana, Chakpath, and Doodban.
