DEO Shopian chairs meeting on 2nd Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, 2024

Instructs BLOs to Improve EP Ratio, ensure 100% coverage of eligible voters

SHOPIAN : The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting of AROs, EROs and BLOs to discuss the Second Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls 2024, at Mini Secretariat, here.
The DEO conducted a thorough review of Plan of Action for the smooth and successful execution of the 2nd SSR in the district. He informed the BLOs that the Election Commission of India has mandated the necessary completion of pre-revision activities and the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, with July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date, with effect from 25 July to 09 August.
In-depth discussions were held on various aspects of the SSR. The DEO urged the Booth Level Officers to ensure the addition of new voters, inclusion of left-out voters, purifying the photographs and deletion of duplicate entries before the assigned due date.
DEO further emphasized the need to complete the SSR 2024 process within the given timeline. He asked for enhancing results of purification of Rolls during the ensuing Special Camps being organised on 27 & 28 July and 03 & 04 August, 2024.
Tehsildars, functioning as EROs were called for supervising the activities of Special Camps to enhance registrations and modifications. The officers involved in the SSR were encouraged to work with dedication to achieve 100 percent enrollment of eligible voters.
The DEO stressed that not a single eligible person should remain unregistered.
BLOs were also directed to clear all pending tasks under the SSR by conducting door to door verification at all booths.
The meeting was attended by AROs of Shopian and Zainapora, Deputy District Election Officer, DIO, EROs, BLOs and other election staff.
