Kupwara : The 8th District Kupwara Championship 2024, organized by the Kupwara Rugby Association in collaboration with the J&K Rugby Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, successfully concluded its two-day event at Galizoo Stadium, Kupwara. The championship, held from July 22 to 23, 2024, saw the participation of 146 players from the Kupwara region.
The opening ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of DYSSO Zahoor Ahmad Wani, who inaugurated the championship on July 22nd. The event also had the honor of hosting Mr. Javaid Ahmad and Mr. Altaf Ahmad from Youth Services and Sports Kupwara as Guests of Honor.
The closing ceremony was held with great enthusiasm on July 23rd, where Mr. Sahibzada Niyaz Ahmad (KAS), Tehsildar Kupwara, served as the Chief Guest. Mr. Ahmad distributed trophies among the winners, celebrating their hard work and dedication. The closing event also welcomed Ms. Neelofar Sidiq, a prominent volleyball player from Kupwara, as the Guest of Honor.
The championship provided a platform for young rugby players from the Kupwara region to showcase their talent and sportsmanship. The Kupwara Rugby Association, along with its partners, extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, officials, and supporters who made this event a grand success.
The Kupwara Rugby Association is dedicated to promoting the sport of rugby in the Kupwara region, providing opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and compete at various levels.
