BARAMULLA : The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited Hi-tech Agro-Forestry Nursery (Sub mission on Agro-Forestry centrally sponsored scheme) at Jalsheeri, Baramulla.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director highlighted the importance of centrally sponsored schemes, projects under HADP. He said that the effective implementation of different schemes, projects could only be achieved when the implementation is done in a coordinated manner.
He said the projects under (HADP) are inter-connected and therefore the officers of allied departments must work in a coordinated manner for the successful implementation of these projects.
Iqbal impressed upon the officers to increase the awareness among the farmers regarding the CSS, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
The Director also held an interaction with the concerned officers, and was briefed by them regarding the implementation of different projects, centrally sponsored schemes and flagship programmes in the district.
Later, the Director inspected Spawn Production Lab cum Demonstration centre Baramulla and held interaction with the concerned staff. He underscored the importance of small scale agriculture cottage industries like mushroom cultivation. He asked the concerned officers to raise awareness among the youth about mushroom cultivation.
Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, SDAO Baramulla and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
