Security forces arrest Hizb operative with pistol, ammunition in Poonch

POONCH: Security forces on Tuesday arrested one Hizbul Mujahideen operative with a pistol and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that during ongoing search operations, the joint team of police and army, on specific information, arrested one guide of Hizbul Mujahideen in Surankote area of Poonch.

“A terror associate was apprehended in a joint operation from the Mangnar area,” said police.

They identified the individual as Mohd Khalil Lone, son of Dawood Lone of Bandipora district in the Kashmir valley.
He was apprehended after a meticulously planned and executed operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Khalil is associated with the proscribed terror organization Hizbul Mujahideen as a logistic provider and Overground Worker.

He was deputed to receive a consignment of arms and ammunition. Further investigation is underway, police said.
