Kupwara police kick off inclusive sports meet for specially-abled

Kupwara : The “Kupwara Police Sports Meet for Specially Abled Persons” was inaugurated on saturday at the DPL Ground, Kupwara, as part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024. This event aims to promote inclusiveness and recognize the talents of differently-abled individuals in our society.
The sports meet features a range of events, including indoor games such as Carrom, Chess, and Ludo, along with outdoor games like Badminton and Cricket. The meeting commenced on saturday with competitions in Carrom, Chess, and Ludo. Participants, representing various disabilities, were selected from across the district.
The inaugural and prize distribution ceremonies were attended by prominent officials including Amin Bhat (JKPS), DyPC Kupwara; Syed Mujahid-Ul-Haq (JKPS), DySP DAR Kupwara; and Mohd. Rafee Rather (JKPS), DySP Hqrs Kupwara, and other officers and officials of the District Police Kupwara. The officers distributed trophies, cash prizes, and certificates among the participants, celebrating their achievements.
In addition to the sports meet, Police Station Trehgam organized a Volleyball Tournament for the local youth under CAP-2024, attended by DySP Hqrs Kupwara and Insp Ajaz, SHO PS Trehgam.
Kupwara Police is committed to encouraging inclusivity and recognizing the talents of all individuals in society.
