DIG North Kashmir Visits Kupwara, Chairs Crime and Security review meetings for the upcoming Assembly Elections and Paid Tribute to the Martyrs

In order to take stock of security arrangements for the upcoming assembly elections, Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman-IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range today visited district Kupwara and conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements to ensure safe, secure and smooth electoral process throughout North Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by many officers which includes SSP Kupwara Shri Shobit Saksena-IPS, Shri Jageer Chand CO 127 BN BSF, Shri Sanjay Kumar CO 98 BN CRPF, Shri Ajav Kumar Tiwari CO 162 BN CRPF, Shri Gh Mohd Bhat-JKPS Additional SP Kupwara, other senior officers of district Kupwara and all SHOs/DOs. DIG North Kashmir emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, execution and inter-agency cooperation to tackle potential challenges and to maintain public safety throughout the electoral process to uphold the integrity of elections. He further laid stress on the importance of maintaining law and order during the elections and outlined the strategic deployments of the forces to ensure peaceful conduct of elections.
In addition to security review, DIG NKR also convened a crime review meeting of the district to discuss investigative strategies and tactics, to analyse case updates and progress reports and to enhance inter-agency coordination/cooperation and to foster a collaborative & proactive approach to crime prevention and detection.
DIG NKR accompanied by other officers of RPHQ Baramulla and district Kupwara also visited the house of martyr SgCt Amir Hassan at Herri Kupwara who attained martyrdom on 22/03/2022 at Soura Srinagar.
At last DIG NKR visited GOC 28-DIV Zangli Kupwara and had a meeting with Major General Shri Mohan Nair regarding the strategizing plans for smooth and synergized operations and maintaining peace and security in the region in view of the upcoming events.
