Assembly Elections 2024: DEO Kupwara conducts inspection of MCMC, Media Center & District Election Control Room

Kupwara : The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) today conducted a thorough inspection of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), Media Centre, and District Election Control Room Kupwara.

The aim of the inspection was to evaluate the preparedness for upcoming Assembly elections- 2024, get firsthand appraisal of their functioning   and efficiency in serving their respective roles.
During the inspection, DEO assessed the operations of these crucial facilities, ensuring that they are well-equipped and prepared to handle their responsibilities effectively.
While inspecting the MCMC and District Media Centre, The DEO meticulously inspected scanning of newspapers, Social media pages and electronic media by a dedicated team of officials.
At the District election Control Room, DEO reviewed the facilities of allotting permissions and functioning of Helpline. Nodal Officer, District Control Room, Mir Hidayatullah apprised the DEO about the functioning of DECR.
Ms. Ayushi Sudan emphasized on the importance of these facilities in facilitating fair and transparent elections, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to ensuring a smooth and impartial electoral process in all the six assembly constituencies of Kupwara district.
Expressing satisfaction with the overall preparedness observed during the visit, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of ensuring that these important institutions adhere to prescribed standards of ECI to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. She reiterated the unwavering commitment of the administration to facilitating free, fair, and transparent elections, wherein every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right with confidence and ease.
On the occasion, DC directed the concerned staff to put in place all efforts for facilitation of smooth conduct of assembly Elections.
