Kupwara : In the aftermath of a devastating fire that ravaged several homes in Batpora Hayhama, Kupwara’s MLA Fayaz Ahmed Mir took swift action to deliver emergency relief to the affected families. The fire, which broke out during the night, destroyed multiple houses, leaving many families in urgent need of assistance. Most of the victims belong to economically vulnerable sections of the community.

Early this morning, Mir visited the site to assess the damage and meet with the affected families. During his visit, he distributed essential supplies, including rice, cooking oil, and blankets. Addressing the community, Mir expressed his solidarity with the victims and assured them of continuous support. He pledged that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the rehabilitation of the affected families, in collaboration with the government.

Mir urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to allocate a special relief package similar to the one provided to the fire-affected families in Kishtwar, highlighting the urgency of the situation in Batpora Hayhama. He emphasized that the affected families need immediate aid to rebuild their homes and restore normalcy.

While speaking to the media, Mir stated, “We stand with the families affected by this tragic incident and are committed to extending all possible help to them. I will personally follow up on their demands with the government to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts.”

The affected families expressed their gratitude for the prompt support but reiterated their appeal to the government for long-term relief measures.
