ADDC B’la review preparedness for Republic Day, 2024 celebrations

BARAMULLA : The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf today chaired a meeting with the Administrative and Police officers of the district to review the preparedness for upcoming Republic Day celebration across Baramulla.

During the meeting, the ADDC took in depth appraisal of the campaigns and events planned by the District Administration in the run-up to the grand celebration on 26th January.

The meeting was informed that the main function of the day will be held at District Police Lines Baramulla, where the chief guest will unfurl the National Flag followed by inspection of parade. The chair was also apprised that full dress rehearsal for the event would be conducted on 24th of January.

It was given out that march-past will be presented by contingents of JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency and other bands which would be followed by a colorful cultural programme by students.

The meeting further held thorough discussion regarding the necessary arrangements including security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, heating, refreshments, medical services, ambulance availability, fire department deployment, and sanitation measures.

The ADDC directed the officers from the concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements related to security, sanitation, seating arrangements, barricading, water supply, power supply, issuance of invitation cards and illumination of important buildings etc on the Republic Day eve.

Additionally, Aijaz Abdullah stressed on the importance of close coordination among all departments for the seamless and successful conduct of the event and instructed the concerned officers to designate nodal officers to supervise the preparations.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Divya D; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Development, Shabir Ahmad Hakak; Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan, Syed Faheem  besides other officers of Police, CRPF were present in the meeting.
