ADDC Shopian inaugurates Orientation programme under Yuva Vani

SHOPIAN: To sensitize the youth about agri- business, the Department of Horticulture, Shopian today kick-started a series of ‘Yuva Vani’ programmes under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in three blocks of the district.

The Yuva Vani programme is specially designed for youngsters, to lure them towards the agriculture sector.

The programme was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone at Block Shopian with the aim to empower youth of the district about the scope of entrepreneurship in the Agriculture sector.

Speaking on the occasion, ADDC said that unemployed youth of the district Shopian should come forward and avail benefits of various schemes of agri-allied departments.

He said that the programme is committed to reaching every corner of the district starting at the block levels.

ADDC added that once the youth are informed about the schemes of the department, they would be encouraged to take part in entrepreneurship to create job opportunities.

Chief Horticulture Officer, Shopian, Mohd Ramazan War who is also Nodal Officer HADP in the district, sensitized the participants about the ‘Yuva Vani’ programme and Daksh Kissan during an interaction session. He said that there are ample business opportunities available in agriculture and allied sectors for the youth.

The participants showed keen interest in opting for Agricultural entrepreneurship which has been designed exclusively for the youth within the age group of 18-35 years.

The programme was also attended by Principal Imtiyaz Memorial Govt. Degree College Shopian, Prof. Mohammad Shafiq; Chief Agriculture Officer Shopian, Farooq Ahmad Reshi; PC, KVK,  Shopian, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Badri; AD Fisheries, Zahoor Ahmad Mir; AMO Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and representatives of different line departments, besides a large number of youth.
