AKAM: Awareness/ Distribution camp held at Chadoora Budgam

BUDGAM : As part of ambitious ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme, a daylong awareness cum distribution camp was today organised at Palash (Child Care Institute) in Chadoora, Budgam.

The programme was organised by District Hub for Empowerment of Women and witnessed huge participation of lactating mothers along with their girl children.

On the occasion, speakers from different walks of life highlighted the importance of educating and securing a girl child, and exhorted upon strict enforcement of relevant rules and regulations.

During the programme, one of the speakers from DHEW complimented the participants and said that effective implementation of BBBP for empowering the girls, has always remained the top most priority of District Administration. She said that various initiatives have been taken by the government for educating and empowering a girl child besides terming them at par with boys in every respect.

Meanwhile, team DHEW distributed some blankets among girl children along with their lactating mother.

The team also raised awareness on various centric schemes like PMMVY, Ladli Beti, Sukanya Samridi Yojana, financial assistance, business loans etc.

The programme was attended by staff of TSWO, CDPO, special cell for women Chadoora, Team and DHEW Budgam.
