Anti Drug squads formed, rallies held across Kupwara district

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray, various activities including formation of anti drug squads, rallies were held in different educational institutions and medical blocks across the district to observe 9th  Day of month-long ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abiyan’.

In all 53 Higher Secondary schools of the district, anti drug addiction squads were formed. All the Heads of the Institutions, staff and the students participated in the programme. These anti drug squads shall carry out various awareness and mass sensitization programmes in different localities across the District.

At GDC Vilgam, a rally under the aegis of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abiyan’ was held in which students and staff members of the College participated. The rally went through various Government offices and Vilgam market. The students carried placards and banners themed on drug abuse including, “Choose life not death”, Stop Drugs”, “Drugs ruin Lives” etc.

Suggestions boxes regarding drug de-addiction and identification of drug abuse victims were also installed in various Degree Colleges including GDC Kralpora, GDC Women Kupwara and GDC Boys Kupwara.

At Government Middle School Chitterkote Karnah, posters were made under the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abiyan’ reading, “Stop Drugs”, “No Smoking” etc.
