Assembly Elections-2024 DEO Bandipora interacts with female and PWD poll staff

BANDIPORA : Ahead of General Elections to Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held on 01 October in district Bandipora, the District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Friday interacted with female and PWD poll staff designated for poll duties at Pink and Red polling Stations.

During the interactive session, critical roles and importance of red and pink polling stations were threadbare discussed.
The DEO highlighted the significance of these special polling stations in ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all voters. He reassured the staff that all necessary welfare measures are in place to support them during the election process.
He underscored the commitment to ensure a fair and accessible electoral process.
He said that each member of the polling staff plays a vital role in fostering trust in our democratic system and instructed the poll staff to ensure that every voter has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
To further enhance the experience for poll staff, the DEO announced the establishment of separate counters for female poll staff and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) staff at DCRC to streamline operations.
The programme was attended by DyDEO Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat, Nodal officer SVEEP Kishor Kumar, Nodal Officer Manpower and training Dr. G. M. Pujoo, female poll staff of Bandipora and Sonawari AC, PWD poll staff of Bandipora AC and other concerned.
Female poll staff of Gurez AC also attended the programme virtually.
