Assembly Elections-2024 DEO B’la inspects Strong Rooms, evaluates Infrastructure and Security for safe storage of EVMs & Election Material

BARAMULLA : In preparation for the upcoming General Assembly Election-2024, the District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, conducted a thorough inspection of Strong Rooms for 10-Baramulla and 12-Wagoora Kreeri Assembly Constituencies.

The visit was focused on assessing the infrastructure, logistics, and security arrangements in place for the safe storage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines, and other essential election materials.
The DEO meticulously reviewed the multi-layered security protocols that have been implemented to safeguard the Strong Rooms, including the installation of CCTV cameras, uninterrupted power supply, round-the-clock security, and other measures in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
During the visit, the DEO stated that these Strong Rooms have been fortified with robust security measures, including continuous monitoring by armed personnel to ensure safety of the election material at all times.
Minga Sherpa further said that to enhance surveillance, CCTV cameras have been strategically installed at multiple points to ensure round-the-clock observation and stressed the importance of maintaining these security measures at all times in compliance with ECI guidelines.
