Assembly Elections- 2024 Inspiring civic participation through Art: Poster Writing & Painting Competition held at Clock Tower Shopian

SHOPIAN : In a continued effort to promote voter awareness and encourage active participation in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, a painting and poster writing competition was organized at the historic Clock Tower in Shopian under the banner of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
The theme of the competition was ‘The Power of Vote’, emphasizing the importance of every individual’s vote in shaping a better future, and the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and teachers representing various schools across the district.
Through their creative artwork, the participants highlighted the value of democracy and the role of voting in ensuring good governance. During the event, a series of announcements were made urging the public to fulfill their duty by casting their vote in the upcoming elections.
The competition besides serving as a platform for creative expression also played a crucial role in inspiring the younger generation to understand the power of their vote.
The initiative was part of a larger campaign by the District Election Office to foster a culture of informed and responsible voting across the district.
