Awantipora Police arrests 02 drug peddlers; Charas Recovered

Awantipora : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers from Panzgam area and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

During vehicular checking at naka point Panzgam Railway Crossing , Police party of Police Post Reshipora headed by IC PP Reshipora Insp. Bilal Ahmad apprehended 02 drug peddlers identified as :

1) Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam S/O Ab Rashid Hajam R/O Newa Pulwama.

2) Anees Mohammad S/O Gh Mohammad R/O Karimabad.

The arrested persons were travelling in a vehicle Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK13A-7136 which was signalled to stop and during search, officers were able to recover 130 grams of Charas like substance from their possession.

The arrested drug peddlers have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.

Case FIR Number 106/ 2025 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
