Awantipora : Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Awantipora Police seized 02 Mechanized Motor Boats.

Police Awantipora under the supervision of SSP Awantipora Shri Sajjad Ahmad Shah-JKPS seized two Mechanized motor boats being used by below mentioned person for illicit extraction of sand from river Jehulm
1) Ashiq Ahmad Sofi S/o Fayaz Ahmad Sofi
2) Ghulam Mohidin Wani S/O Ghulam Qadir Wani
3) Umer Mohidin Wani S/O Ghulam Mohidin Wani
4) Towseef Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Rasheed Shah
5) Gulzar Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Ramzan Dar
6) Bakhtiyar Ahmad Khan S/O Ab Qayoom Khan
7) Sameer Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Ahmad Bhat all residents of Larkipora Awantipora.

Accordingly, case vide FIR NO. 165/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.

Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
