Awantipora Police Seized 03 Tippers and Arrested 03 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora

Awantipora : In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police Awantipora have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 03 vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals and Arrested 03 Persons.

Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Dy.SP (P) Atif Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora seized three tippers bearing registration numbers JK01AP-3692, JK13A-5111 & JK 05C- 6652
Driven by following persons:
1) Tawseef Ahmad Dar S/o Farooq Ahmad Dar R/o Hatiwara Lethpora .
2) Mohd Asif Dar S/o Noor Mohd Dar R/O Hatiwara Lethpora .
3)Zahoor Ahamd S/O Late Ab Khaliq Ahanger R/o Khanmoh Srinagar .

Accordingly, case FIR NO. 101/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.

This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by all Police Stations of the Police District Awantipora. Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.“`
