Awantipora Police Seized 06 L&Ts, 04 Tippers and arrested 10 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Khrew

Awantipora : In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police Awantipora have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 10 vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals which includes 06 L&Ts and 04 Tippers.

Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew Inspector Syed Mubarak under the supervision of SDPO Pampore seized six L&Ts bearing registration numbers 22SY2100000896, LG 922EZVRN 902686 , 048104L122115 , KMTPCO 48C9 4L1C 675, HYNDN633PE004646 and LNT 91N6-14180 and 04 Tippers bearing registration numbers.JK03-5327, JK04-7194, JK01L-9588 & JK 04- 0810
Driven/operated by following persons:
1) Mod Anwar khan S/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Reasi.
2) Razzaq Choudhary S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Ramban.
3) Irfan Bhat S/o Rashid Bhat R/o Doda.
4) Ajaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Ab Ahad Bhat R/o Tangmarg
5) Arif Wani S/o Ab Humaid R/o Patalbagh.
6) Dhiraj Singh s/o Gulab Singh R/O Udhampur
7) Muzaffar Khanday S/o Bashir Khanday R/o Mendakpal.
8) Mohd Yousf Wani S/o Habibullah r/o Wuyun.
9) Basit Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Mohd Bhat R/o Wuyun.
10) Shabir Bhat S/o Gh Mohd r/o Wuyun.

Accordingly, case vide FIR NOs. 08/2025, 09/2025 and 10/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been initiated.

This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by all Police Stations of the Police District Awantipora. Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
