Awantipora Police Seized 07 Tippers/Dumpers used for Illegal Mining

Awantipora : Continuing its drive against illegal mining, Awantipora Police has seized 07 vehicles which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.

Police teams of Police Station Khrew and Police Station Pampore headed by SDPO Pampore while performing patrolling duty in the jurisdictional area, have seized seven tippers bearing registration NOs. JK 02AQ-5932, JK02AJ-1187, JK04B-0468, JK 14A-9529, JK01H-5886, JK04E-9513 &Jk 13G-2148 which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the Mendakpal area.

Accordingly Case FIR NOs. 43/2025 & 44/2025 under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Khrew and investigation taken up.
This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by all Police Stations of the Police District Awantipora. Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.“`
