Awareness program under Child Marriage Act held at Kralpora

KUPWARA : Child Welfare Committee Kupwara today organized an awareness program about the Child Marriage Act 2006 at Kralpora Kupwara.
During the program, students were sensitized about the prohibition of early childhood marriage under the Child Marriage Act.
Meanwhile, detailed awareness was given to the participants about the demerits of early childhood marriage and its prohibition under the law.
It was informed that anybody having information about the child marriage can report the same to police and Child Marriage Prohibition Officer who can take action under the provisions of law.
It was also informed to the participants that if there has been any instance of child marriage, a decree for nullity of the same can be sought from District Court.
