Awareness programme to commemorate ‘World Human Rights Day’ held at Pulwama

PULWAMA : In compliance to the directions of JK Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama today organized an Awareness programme on ‘World Human Rights Day’ in collaboration with District Social Welfare Officer (Mission Shakti) Pulwama at Village Organization Office of National Rural Livelihood Mission Bathnoor Tral.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq Secretary DLSA Pulwama
On the occasion, Gender Specialist and Financial Literacy Specialist from District Social Welfare Office Pulwama acted as main resource persons. They gave a detailed lecture on Human Rights with special emphasis on Right to Work, Right to Food and Water, Right to Housing and Right to Education among the participants.
They also deliberated on this year’s theme for Human Rights Day 2024 ‘Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now.’ It emphasizes the importance of global unity in upholding human dignity, equality, and justice, and commemorates the 76th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the speakers added.
Moreover, a handsome gathering of participants were present at the event.
Furthermore, programme ‘Human Rights Day’ was also organized by the DLSA Pulwama at TLSC Awantipora at Government Girls Secondary School Awantipora. Head Master of the school lauded the role of TLSC Awantipora in organizing such awareness programmes for the larger benefit of the student community.
Staff members of TLSCs Awantipora, Tral and PLVs also participated in the said event.
