Kupwara : In a remarkable display of community service, the 127 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), in partnership with the Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, organized a life-saving blood donation camp at the Sector Hospital BSF Kupwara on Tuesday.
The event was inaugurated by Brigadier M.D. Upadhyay (Retd), DIG SHQ BSF Kupwara, who delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of blood donation. He warmly welcomed Dr. Javed Ahmad, Senior Medical Officer, and his dedicated team from GMC Handwara.
Brigadier Upadhyay highlighted the important role such initiatives play in saving lives and meeting the ever-present demand for blood in our society.
Among the distinguished attendees were Jagir Chand, Commandant of the 127 Bn BSF, and IH Khan, Commandant (Adm) SHQ BSF Kupwara, along with numerous officers and troops.
Demonstrating their commitment to the cause, BSF jawans lined up to donate blood, showcasing their dedication to public service beyond their duty.
The event was met with enthusiastic participation from the local community, who expressed deep gratitude to the BSF for organizing this essential and impactful event. Residents of north Kashmir praised the initiative, recognizing the significant benefits it brings to the region’s healthcare.
