Kupwara: Prominent business tycoon and philanthropist Tariq Majnoon Mir has expressed profound grief over the passing of Haji Mohammad Akbar Ganie and Maulvi Mohammad Abdullah Shah, the two revered personalities of Lolab Valley, who left for heavenly abode within hours of each other.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Mir described the dual loss as a “deeply sorrowful moment for the entire region.”
Mir lauded Haji Mohammad Akbar Ganie, the retired headmaster and dedicated member of the Tablighi Jamaat, for his lifelong commitment to education and spiritual mentorship. “Ganie Sahib’s humility and service in shaping generations of students have left an indelible mark on Lolab’s social fabric,” Mir stated.
Paying tribute to Maulvi Mohammad Abdullah Shah, the distinguished cleric and scholar, Mir highlighted Shah’s decades of religious leadership and his role in fostering unity through teachings at Markazi Jamia Masjid. “Maulvi Sahib’s wisdom and dedication to communal harmony exemplified the essence of faith and service,” he remarked.
Mir extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families, former students, and admirers of both luminaries. “Their legacies of knowledge, compassion, and integrity will continue to inspire. May the community find strength in their enduring contributions,” he added.
Mir in the meantime said that he regrets for not being able to attend the funeral prayers of the two revered personalities. “I currently am in Delhi, due to which I couldn’t attend the funeral prayers,” Mir said, adding, “Once I reach back, I will prioritise reaching out to the bereaved families to pay my due condolences.”
