It seeks to provide equitable access to youth to actualize their aspirations and build “Viksit Bharat” across the entire spectrum of the government.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting of the union cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with medal winners and athletes who returned after the Asian Games, achieving India’s highest medal tally in the continental event.

“It has been decided to form an institution called MY Bharat Mera Yuva Bhara,” he said.

The minister said the primary objective of Mera Yuva Bharat is to make it a whole of Government platform for youth development.

He said that under the new arrangement, youth would become community change agents and nation builders allowing them to act as the ‘Yuva Setu’ between the Government and the citizens.

“It seeks to harness the immense youth energy for nation-building,” Thakur said.
