COVID-19: J&K reports two deaths, 136 fresh cases.

Srinagar reports 54 cases, case tally at 339,540 death toll reaches to 4,510, active cases reaches to 1,448, recovery rate at 98.25 percent.

Srinagar, Dec 17 : Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported two deaths and 136 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,448.

With two more deaths, the death toll in the UT has reached 4,510 and 136 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 339,540.

Of the exact number of 339,540 cases, 213,764 are from Kashmir division and 125,776 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 136 new cases, 96 belong to Kashmir division while as 40 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 213,764 including 210,364 recoveries and 2,317 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,776 including 123,218 recoveries and 2,193 deaths

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,448 including 1,083 from Kashmir division and 365 from Jammu division.

With 125 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 333,582 which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 54 from Srinagar, 10 from Baramulla, 07 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 04 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 11 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 40 from Jammu division include 18 from Jammu, 06 from Udhampur, 03 from Rajouri, 06 from Doda, 05 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 50.

As per officials figures, 78,187 positive cases including 879 deaths and 76,791 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,782 including 290 deaths and 25,302 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,395 including 25,302 recoveries and 214 deaths are from Budgam, 15,673 including 15,438 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,879 including 167 deaths and 14,636 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,708 including 16,483 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,109 cases including 9,941 and 108 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,878 including 10,695 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,537 including 11,407 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,616 including 5,555 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,943 including 52,576 recoveries and 1,154 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,463 including 11,308 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,359 including 11,100 recoveries and 239 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,001 including 7,834 recoveries and 136 deaths are from Doda, 9,378 including 9,215 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Kathua, 7,173 including 7,047 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,844 including 4,791 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,575 including 6,436 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,060 including 5,990 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,980 including 6,922 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,938,705 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,307 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,448 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,495,857 persons have completed the surveillance period and 429,583 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 18,546,851 samples are available. Out of 18,546,851 the number of samples tested negative stands at 18,207,311 while as 339,540 have tested positive, among them 1,448persons are active, 333,582 persons have recovered and 4,510 persons have died—(KNO)
