DC Bandipora Chairs NCORD Meeting Emphasises Channelizing Energy of youth Positively

BANDIPORA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Thursday, chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination (NCORD) mechanism.
The meeting was aimed to review ongoing measures and evaluate the progress of various initiatives aimed at combating the growing menace of drug abuse.
During the meeting, ADC Bandipora who is Nodal Officer for NCORD, Zaffar Husson Shawl, briefed the chair regarding the current efforts being implemented to address the issue of drug trafficking and abuse.
The concerned officers from Drugs Control, Excise and Taxation, and other departments presented their action-taken reports and outlined the enforcement measures in place.
Addressing the participants, DC Bandipora M.A Qadri emphasized the need for strict actions to curb drug peddling, including freezing the assets of individuals involved in drug peddling.
He also highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs in the public particularly focusing on vulnerable groups and areas.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to organize sports events aimed at positively channelizing the energy of the youth, providing them with healthy alternatives to drug abuse and keeping them away from drug menace.
Among others the meeting was attended by ACP Irfan Bahadur, Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar, DSWO Sahir Majeed, ARTO Anees Ahmad, DySP Latief Khan, and officers from the Excise and Taxation Department, Drugs Control, and other concerned.
