BANDIPORA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman today convened a meeting to review the status of sports infrastructure development, indoor hall and pavilion construction initiative at S.K Stadium Bandipora.

Addressing the meeting, DC underscored the importance of investing in sports infrastructure development to promote physical activity, talent development and community engagement.

He emphasized that the construction of an indoor hall and pavilion in S.K Stadium besides providing a venue for sporting events will also serve as a catalyst for involving more youth towards sports.

The meeting discussed existing sports facilities and identification of areas requiring improvement or expansion to meet the growing demand for sporting activities.

Discussion on the design of the proposed indoor hall, pavilion and considerations for seating capacity besides amenities and accessibility features were also held during the meeting.

The DC highlighted the need for collaboration between government agencies, and the sports associations and sports enthusiasts to ensure the success of sports infrastructure projects and asked the concerned agencies to start the work on proposed infrastructures without any further delay.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer J&K Sports Council, sports administrators, R&B Engineers, and representatives of various sports associations.
