DC Baramulla Conducts Extensive visit of Town

BARAMULLA : District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, accompanied by a team of officers, conducted an extensive visit to Baramulla Town to assess the current infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
During the visit, several significant directives were issued aimed at enhancing the town’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
DC was accompanied by Executive Officer Municipal Council Baramulla, Naveed Aijaz, Executive Engineer R&B, Rayees Aslam Makdoomi and other concerned officers and Engineers.
The DC directed the Executive Officer Municipal Council Baramulla to remove all commercial vehicles from Criyapa Park Front and rehabilitate them in the main bus stand of Baramulla.
This move aims to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment and ensure free movement for commuters.
In Azad Jung, the DC instructed the Executive Officer and the Executive Engineer of R&B to develop a cycle track along the river Jhelum. Additionally, all tin sheds in the area are to be removed to enhance the overall beauty and cleanliness of the surroundings.
At Kokar Hamam, DC Sherpa directed the officers to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of a children’s park, an open gym, and a swimming pool. These facilities are intended to provide recreational opportunities for the general public and improve community well-being.
The DC emphasized the importance of maintaining functional public toilets throughout the main town. He also instructed the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council and the Executive Engineer of R&B to proceed with the macadamization of berm areas along the National Highway in the main town.
This measure is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure smoother vehicular movement.
