DC Baramulla reviews arrangements for 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg

BARAMULLA : In view of the 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg from 21st February 2024, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa accompanied by SSP Baramulla Amod Ashok Nagarpure saturday visited Gulmarg and held a series of meetings to ensure proper arrangements are in place for the successful execution of the sports extravaganza.

Director Tourism Kashmir, Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority, Sub Divisional  Megistrate Gulmarg and officers from various line departments besides various associations and other stakeholders were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the DC conducted a comprehensive review of arrangements for the successful hosting of the Winter Games and instructed all the line departments to work in cohesion for seamless execution.

Additionally, Minga Sherpa directed the officers to ensure proper system is in place and  proactively address any bottlenecks experienced in previous editions of the games.

Meanwhile, the DC along with other officers held meetings with Jammu and Kashmir Sumo Association and Guides Association and stressed the importance of adhering to government-approved rates for cab services to the tourist visiting Gulmarg and warned of legal consequences for any non compliance.

The DC directed the concerned officers to install boards at popular tourist spots, clearly displaying the government approved rates for the services and provide helpline number, to prevent any exploitation of tourists.

Speaking to the media about the arrangements, the DC said that the necessary system is in place for the successful hosting of the games and the administration is diligently adding final touches to the arrangements to ensure the event’s success.
