BARAMULLA : Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, attended the 16th anniversary celebration of the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India in Pattan today, where he honored teachers and volunteers for their exceptional contributions to education in remote areas.
The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, supported by Seva Bharti J&K, operates 180 education centers across Baramulla, bringing free education to children in far-flung areas with limited access to learning. The event also featured cultural performances by students, highlighting the rich heritage and talent of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Baramulla praised the combined efforts of Ekal Vidyalaya and Seva Bharti J&K in making education accessible at the grassroots level.
He stressed the importance of education in shaping a brighter future for society and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve literacy and empower youth.
He also assured that the administration will continue to strengthen educational outreach, ensuring that every child gets access to quality education.
The celebration saw active participation from students, educators, and community members, reflecting the shared commitment to enhancing the education sector in Baramulla.
