DC Budgam inspects upgradation & beautification projects under Beautifying Budgam Town initiative

Says, most works launched by LG under Phase- I beautification initiative near completion

BUDGAM : The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today inspected various ongoing construction and beautification projects under the Beautifying  Budgam Town Initiative.

The projects included upgradation of Park at Old Bus Stand, where construction of Gazebo, fountain and surface tiling works are under progress, drainage work at Old Bus Stand, construction of tile path at bridge area, upgradation of Town Hall building, retro fitting and internal fitting works.

Among other projects, the DC also inspected the selfie point at Humhama Chowk and took on spot stock of progress of tile work, boundary wall plaster,  painting and seating area renovation at Sports Stadium Budgam.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that most of the works launched by Lieutenant Governor under Phase- I of Beautification and Upgradation initiative for Town Budgam in August- 2023 are nearing completion.

He said that under the Phase- I beautification initiatives, aesthetic street lighting has been completed at the two bridges in Budgam town while 1000 more street lights have been tendered for installation across the Town Budgam. He said the projects also include upgradation of DC Complex Budgam and uniform colour painting of walls in Town areas.

The DC said that the District Administration is committed to ensure speedy work completion of all projects to ensure swift infrastructure development in consonance with aesthetic and picturesque look of Budgam.

He said that other works shall be taken up for execution under Phase- II of the upgradation and beautification plan.

During inspection of projects, the DC was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak, JD Planning, Executive Engineers from different Engineering Wings, DYSSO, EO MC Budgam and other concerned officers.
