DC conducts comprehensive inspection of Polling Stations at Shopian

SHOPIAN : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today undertook a comprehensive visit to several polling stations in the district including Bohrihalan, Heerpora, Padapawan, Chottipora and Sedow.

The visit was aimed to assess and review the status of assured minimum facilities at these polling stations.

The scrutiny encompassed a thorough examination of various essential facilities for the smooth conduct of the elections.

During the inspection, the DC engaged with the stakeholders to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place to facilitate a smooth and efficient voting process.

Basic amenities such as electricity, water supply, sanitation, and accessibility for differently-abled voters was assessed at these polling stations.

Expressing satisfaction with the overall preparedness observed during the visit, the DC underscored the importance of ensuring that all polling stations adhere to prescribed standards of ECI to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.

He reiterated the unwavering commitment of the administration to facilitating free, fair and transparent elections, wherein every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right with confidence and ease.

The DC was accompanied by SSP, Shopian, Tanushree and Dy. DEO, Jahangir Ahmed besides officers and other officials of election department Shopian.
