DC Ganderbal reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023 via Baltal axis

GANDERBAL : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a meeting of all concerned district officers to review arrangements for the smooth conduct of Annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SAJY), 2023 via Baltal axis.

At the outset, detailed discussion was held regarding the preparations and arrangements by different departments at various locations including transit camp Manigam, base camp Baltal, Domail, Railpathri and other halt stations.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on various ongoing works and arrangements including provisions of water and electricity, Medicare facilities, sanitation, drainage, registration of service providers, public convenience, firewood, stock positioning of essential commodities, flood protection works and other related arrangements.

The officers from all concerned departments apprised the DC about preparations and progress of works being executed at several locations with regard to Yatra.

While reviewing the arrangements, the DC maintained that the District Administration is committed to provide best facilities to the Yatries during the Yatra period and directed officials to ensure better planning and coordination among the departments at all levels so that all preparations are completed on time.

While reviewing the status of public conveniences/toilets, he exhorted upon the ACD for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness and sufficient public convenience/toilets at base camp Baltal and other halting places of Yatries besides en route to the Holy Cave.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah; Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri; ACD, CEO SDA, DySP HQ, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, and I&FC and other officers of line departments.
